HER

“It stands as a sanctuary free of judgments, comparisons or envy. It seeks to redefine unity, encouraging us to see others as reflections of ourselves. In this space, love, acceptance and vulnerability guide us.”

The Barcelona-based French photographer Virginie Martinez brings together and photographs women from various parts of the world in her project “Her,” born in Morocco at the end of 2023, and continued in Barcelona, Portugal and Mallorca.

“Every woman is accepted and welcome, no matter the age, color or culture. That’s also what the project is based on, to stop categorizing and show that we can all be beautiful in front of the camera and feel comfortable and cared for. So far I haven’t had girls, but in the next editions I would like to work with the generational factor, from grandmother to granddaughter”, says photographer.

“There was always in me this thing of wanting to bring people together, to create sculptures through bodies and photograph them. It stands as a sanctuary free of judgments, comparisons or envy. It seeks to redefine unity, encouraging us to see others as reflections of ourselves. In this space, love, acceptance and vulnerability guide us. It is a deep union between women, fostering personal growth as we intertwine our lives and embrace our identities and vulnerabilities together”.
