About the Course

During this 5-week class, we will discuss the importance of text in our work and portfolio. Each photographer will work on their bio, artist statement and project summaries, and will learn how to prepare pitches for photo editors and publications, grant proposals, applications for scholarships, and exhibition and galleries summaries. This is a practical course and we will dedicate each class to writing exercises, plus diving into successful pieces from other photographers.
Durante este curso de 5 semanas, discutiremos la importancia del texto en nuestro trabajo y portafolio. Cada fotógrafx trabajará en su biografía, en su declaración de artista y en los resúmenes de sus proyectos, y aprenderá a preparar presentaciones para editores y publicaciones de fotografía, propuestas de becas, solicitudes varias, y resúmenes para exposiciones y galerías. Este es un curso práctico y dedicaremos cada clase a ejercicios de escritura, además de explorar piezas exitosas de otrxs fotógrafxs.
